Default Amp Noise... Normal?

So, I've got the RF kit.... bags, amp,and faring speakers in my (2019RGS) installed by my dealer...
I decided to upgrade all 4 speakers to Mmats because they simply sound much better...
I still need to adjust my amp...(gain) it is a bit high!
What I noticed is I got noise..amp noise with the radio OFF & the ignition on along with the same noise with radio ON! I know my gain is still yet high...but never noticed the noise with the RF speakers?
Now...my buddy stops by with his (2019RGSCVO) with the upgraded Boom.
I have him turn his ignition on...radio off! And he has a very similar noise, just a bit lower?
So anyone know what's up with the noise. I don't understand if radio is off....is the amp always powered?
My HU is stock, his Book system is all stock...
TIA

Noise like that is typically associated with gains and with higher sensitivity speakers it will be more pronounced. If the mmats gave a higher dB rating for sensitivity, that could be why its higher. But it's likely a gain thing. But some sort of noise is typical with most systems on bikes from what I've seen.

Thanks man.. there is a very nice noticitabl difference after the swap..I just find it odd ignition on radio off & amp noise? I'm guessing the amp remote wire is not in use? Which also seems odd on a stock boom system...same noise radio off!

Just for the heck of it did you check to see if the ground for the amp ran back to the battery?

Not yet...but this weekend I'll pull the faring to tune the amp and look it all over.
Im thinking it's just a amp tune issue.
I would assume this install was done nicely,
the bike was used as a demo by RF tech's.
As in used by RF to show H-D tech's how to do an install.

It depends on where they grabbed the turn on at. If the used the accessory connector that comes on with ignition and stays on till the ignition is off. Same way with the cigarette lighter. Now if it's using signal sense it should turn off when the radio does.
