Default Component speaker wiring question

Hey Guys - I'm going to upgrade some things on my BMW K1600B. I know.... this is HD Forums. Whatever. It's the best motorcycle audio forum on the web and you guys will know the answers.

This bike does have some limitations that the HD world doesn't have to deal with.
Limitation 1 - head unit cannot be replaced. So an amp with speaker level input is a requirement
Limitation 2 - The stock speaker location houses a 4" speaker. Rumor has it a 5 1/4" can fit, so that's where I'm heading. There is a place for a remote tweeter in the stock speaker box. See pic here.

I'm going to replace the stock speakers with a set of Hertz K130

I want to power it with an Audio Control ACM 2.300. Checks all the boxes for power, size, speaker level input and no need to run a remote wire (big plus given the factory head unit).

Here's my question. The Hertz manual shows wiring the tweeter to the woofer. There is an inline crossover on the speaker leads of the tweeter. Isn't this basically parallel wiring of two 4 ohm speakers? This would create a 2 ohm load at the amp. The amp is 2 ohm stable, so it's not a huge concern but I'm just curious if that is how it works on component set-ups. My only experience on my previous HD was coax speakers, then and upgrade to Pro Audio. Never dealt with component set-ups.

The ohm load is the amount of resistance encountered through the voice coil . A tweeter voice coil is so small that it has a negligible effect on ohm load when wired with a woofer.

Awesome. That makes perfect sense. Probably why you don't see an ohm rating on a lot of those dome tweeters.

Thanks,
Zach
