Going to be pulling the Hertz coax out of the fairing and lowers and switching to some separates. I'm going with Beyma 6P200Nd for the fairing and Faital 6FE200 for some fill down in the lowers. I also have Beyma SQL60 for the tweets all powered by a pair of Stinger SPX700x4's and tuning via a Dayton DSP (replacing the RF DSR1). Diagram shown below. My existing setup sounded pretty good, but in my opinion, it wasn't quite scratching the itch. We've been riding the last few weeks, but since it's raining today, it's the perfect time to tear into this project (in the garage).
I do have a question though. I have some filler plugs on each side of the stereo (covering some unused gauge holes) and was thinking about putting the tweets in there since I've hated those plugs since forever and it's easier to cut plastic than it is to cut the stamped metal speaker grills. Having said that, I'm concerned about separation and dispersion. Any feedback from folks who have run their tweets in both locations? I'm pretty sure I'll still put them in the speaker grills, since I think that will sound better and my goal is improved sound quality.

whats the wiring plan and ohm rating on the Faital’s? Also asking a 6.5 to be happy at 60hz is a big ask

8 ohm Faitals run in parallel and bridged off channels 3/4. Oh and those are the manufacturers frequency response ratings. Those aren't my intended crossover points.

Put those tweeters in the gauge holes if they fit brother.
As OK stated, ur prob not gonna want the 6P crossed that low on a sled. In a car maybe. I would start at 85-90 and a slope of 12 w Link and tinker from there. Then roll them off in the 5-6000 range with the horns coming in at 24 slope in that general 5k range to get some overlap.
Thanks T. I'll need to trim the plugs to make the tweets fit since the gauge hole is larger than the tweeter body, but not a big deal. Oh and thanks for the advice in general and on the tuning values in your post above. Yeah, I'll start A LOT more conservatively on crossover values since those are just the manufacturers frequency response values.
I'm also really glad to be moving to a DSP that won't disconnect all the time and lose my settings. I'm sure it's just the mounting location of the DSR-1 and the Bluetooth signal, but a hard-wired USB setting will be better.
I haven't heard or used any of those speakers but it looks like a well planned out build with some damn nice gear. The kind of gear I would probably be looking at going into my next build when I start looking at my next speaker upgrades.

Thanks brother. I definitely had some help. I have had my eyes on those Beymas for some time. As most things go, it was convincing the wife that I needed a new audio setup and that it was worth the coin. After 26 years, she's realized that she can't change me, but since we both ride, it's all about making it enjoyable! BTW, your bike is gorgeous and is very similar to the look that I'm going for. As always, it's a work in progress.

It's just good to see someone who has taken their time, got a little help, made a plan based on the advice, and knows where they want to go with it.
Not sure how much of my current system gets re-used on the next upgrade, but I try to buy gear I can continue to build off. I imagine Beymas will be part of my next upgrade, along with maybe a new SD amp, just so I can keep it all in the fairing except my tour pack amp that Ill be leaving in the tour pack. Until then the Stinger is holding down the fort with the Vadm 4 for the Speaker lids.
Thanks for the compliment on the bike. Its looking pretty good for an 05. Definitely a build in progress. New stretched bags, fender, and speaker lids sitting in the garage for the next stage.
Ok, quick update. In my excitement, I neglected to buy my BT speaker adapters for the fairing, so I am at a bit of a stand still. That means I left the HCX's in the fairing for now. Having said that, I was able to trim up the HU brackets and that allows Stinger 2 AND the Dayton DSP to fit under my amp bracket for Stinger 1. I cleaned up the wiring just a little bit, but since I'll have to go back in and re-do some of the wiring when I switch over to the Beymas, I didn't clean it up like I would have otherwise. I also didn't run any of the additional wiring for the second amp yet. I'll post some pics once I've got it picture worthy.
I swapped out the MPX's in the lowers for the Faitals and threw a really basic tune on the Dayton and those things REALLY complement the HCX's quite well. Crossed the Faitals at 125 (12dB) and 5500 (24dB) and gave them a moderate bump through 1k to help richen up the lower end. I basically mimic'ed my settings for the HCX's from the DSR over to the Dayton and adjusted the gain for proper imaging between the fairing and lowers. Everything else was fine tuned through the HU and it's quite good. In fact, my wife mentioned that she thought it sounded better, which is saying something because it didn't sound bad before and she is definitely NOT an audiophile.
