I have a JL Audio HD900/5 powering two MMats PA801 speakers connected to the subwoofer output of the amp. The subwoofer output is rated at 500 watts and with both Mmats connected to that output - this would mean each speaker is getting roughly 250 watts - is that correct? Also have tweets and a set of Polk Audio MM602's hooked up to the other channels but just want to confirm the wattage that is going to the Mmats in the lids.
As it turns out if this is true that may be a bit much for these speakers...think I just blew one on my way to work this am .
Still haven't had time to really test - but realize 80Hz is a little low for these speakers. I've raised it up to 100Hz and lowered my gains a bit. Overall I've been pretty happy with the speakers. Haven't been able to ride much due to various factors but turning them up in the garage is a lot different than turning them up on the road . Am I correct in the assumption that both speakers connected to the sub output would each receive half the output as far as power is concerned? Thanks all - love this Forum although it is expensive at times .
Hey! I've disabled the filter on the amp, and am using the DSP (DSR1) as a bandpass to the PA801's in the lids. Hipass - was at 80Hz, raised it to 100Hz, Low Pass 4500Hz.
