Default Remote wire install

Looking for advice for the best method for installing the "remote on" wire into the MMATS MD4110 amp. I have the switched power source already but the remote on wire is quite small (18 gauge) and the pinch terminal on the amp is quite large. I was considering just adding a ring terminal to the 18 gauge wire and just tightening down the set screw as much as possible but I'm not sure how good of a connection that will make. anyone share some insight as to how they connected theirs?

Stick it in and tighten it down, it'll be fine.

If you're really worried about it you can strip off about 2-3 times what you normally would. Then fold the wire over itself a couple of times. Then twist it and stick it in the amp.

I think I did sort of what Zed said but I wrapped the wire over a small section of the unstripped wire and then stuck it in there to fatten it up.

After I changed amps though I got a wire ferrule kit and crimpers to give it a real solid purchase. I think it was something like this bugger here:

1200pcs Wire Terminal Connector Set w Ferrule Crimper Crimping Plier Tool Kit

I went with the Ferrule ends as well. Makes for a more professional look and solid connection point.

One thing I forgot about those ferrules is they have a little gauntlet on them that keeps stray wire strands from touching other wires in a connector block. When you have speaker terminals that are real close together it's a nice bit of added insulation against possible shorts.
