Default Sony XAV7000/Biketronics/Hertz/Rockford Install 2018 FLTRXS

I installed the Sony 7000 in my 2018 RGS and what a massive improvement over the factory unit. Apple CarPlay is a game changer; I now have a GPS that is actually intuitive and works! Waze, Google Maps, Apple maps, Apple Music, iMessage, etc. Instead of $400 for the Sirius XM Module, Fathead had for $40 (with three months free, and with a little effort on the phone you can get XM for $60 yr: Google for Promo Codes). I have set-up with Biketronics Fairing speakers, Hertz 165.3 in my lowers (installed parallel with the fronts), Rockford Fosgate Saddlebag kit in the rear (easy, but unnerving to install, drilling/cutting your lids), all going through a Biketronics BT4180 (yeah, I hooked it up without the amp originally and the amp made a massive improvement). No Flash needed, No Line Levelers, and for a guy with just enough skills to be dangerous, pretty easy install, and I Love it!

The only downside is that I had to buy new gloves, the touchscreen on the Sony doesn't work with regular gloves like the HD unit. My new gloves are HD's Touchscreen capable FXRG (I got both summer and winter models). I was ready for a refresh here, as my FXRG's were 8 years old. The new models are pretty nice.

Also, the Rockford's in the bags make a horrible noise if I turn the volume up too much (admittedly I listen pretty loud, too loud, bc of my full face helmet, crappy hearing from too many concerts) otherwise they are kinda flat; too much treble and not enough bass. They really do sound like they will turn into confetti if I don't turn down quickly, so a little over half-way up is optimal. My question here is this; anyone have experience replacing the TMS69's with something that'll match up with the Rockford-Fosgate lid install kit that'll be an improvement? Fathead shows in their video them installing the kit with Soundz; not sure of the model. Any ideas or experience with these or something else that can handle the power?

Hertz mpx 690’s will fit directly in the rf lids. Mmats 690.4’cx’s will need to be redrilled to fit. I have a set of both on the shelf if your interested. Btw my mmats are already redrilled. Both are damn good in the rears.

Thanks for the info; that's really helpful. I know speaker preference can be really subjective, especially when it comes to a preference for loud or sound quality. I'm finding that my bass has to be set really low otr the ones I have now will distort, but then it ends up sounding kind of "shrill".

What are you looking to get for your Hertz and MMats speakers shipped to San Diego 92120? I'd like to button up ASAP (and sell my RF's).
