Im looking to upgrade the audio on my 16 RGS, and am looking for some suggested setups. I’ve searched threads endlessly, but can’t seem to settle on a setup. Right now I’m looking to just replace the fairing speaker, add an amp, as well as a DSP if necessary. Would prefer a “plug and play” setup, but would be comfortable running my own wires as well. I would also like to set this setup to be able to add lids in the future. Would need the system to be as durable as possible, and don’t want to be replacing parts every year or so.
budget is around $1000, but I’m willing to spend a little bit more if the quality would be significantly better.
From all my research on here it seems most people recommend MMAT 601cx 6.5's and then a Stinger 700.4 amp.
I ended up going with Arc Audio stuff on my bike because I got a good deal locally on it. But i am happy with the way it sounds currently, still need to have someone competent tune it though lol.

Yeah, i am sure if budget isn't that much of a factor there is better out there. I am new to all this too. So still learning a lot. Thanks for the link i will read up on it for sure. I'm sure it will help the OP too.

as soon as I saw this, I though, I bet someone suggests mmats....they are the darling of HD audiophiles right now
i think for good reason, they are great sounding speakers and very fairly priced
I've been around for about a year and I'm still learning as well....lots of great guys here
I recently upgraded both upper fairings and rears, I used an Arc 600.4 amp and we went with AD 4200 components in the fairing, great sounding speakers....as a two speaker only setup, I think they'd be great....prolly not the best, but up there in quality

I have seen and read that thread, but I’m still over here scratching my head on which way to go.
You'd be happy with that setup, but if you want better and willing to pay for it, there is better. The stinger and mmats setup sounds really good...and the price point is even a better value. I have that setup with the mmats 690's in my lids. No problem hearing my music at any speed and has pretty good bass.
I only see like 2 votes for MMATS and Stinger amp.
If you are running a DSP go with the Faital rs140's and a decent horn. The new shallow Diamond horns look good in the fairing grills. get a SD800.4 bridge and parallel the woofers and you have 2 channel to run your horns in stereo.

are you running a DSP with them or just a line leveler?
