What the best Bluetooth to put on a stock 2010 radio. I guess the units that plug in the auto jack need power to function. I have the iPhone that I have to use the lighting jack. I believe the last iPhone quit charging because of the Harley vibrations while charging on the road.

not exactly sure what your asking for, I use this one in my car, works great!
I use the Metra Saddle Tramp BT-HD01 bluetooth module. It plugs inline with the stock radio harness and integrates the bluetooth functionality into the head unit. It allows handlebar controls for track skip and reverse and shows artist and track information on the head unit. That way my phone can stay on my belt or in the tour pak. Here is a link.
I also have the metra module (bike came with it bought used) but it kinda breaks sometimes when initially connecting to my iphone... no idea why. it goes back to radio and becomes 'dead' until power is cut and restored to it (I put a small swicth under the handlebars to do this).
is there any 'software update' that can be applied to this module to fix this annoyance?
Interested in purchasing the Metra Saddle Tramp BT-HD01 for my 2013 Limited Anniversary Edition that I bought used. It had all the options installed for the radio - XM module, CB, Garmin Road Tech Navigation module, and IPod interface. Does anyone know if will I need to give up any of these features, to install this? I’ve had a road king for 15 years and I’m enjoying all the music options, and yes, I use them all. . Thanks for any response.

Either the XM or iPod interface will need to be removed. Cant run all three
So a battery disconnect fixed the issue, even temporarily?

I had HDBT from the Metra module on my screen (lower right option) the day I got the bike. It is a 2010 Ultra Classic. I was pairing to my IPhone and it connected but then a minute later the HDBT option disappeared from the radio. I was going to open the fairing to look for a loose connection but if you are saying cutting all power (meaning disconnect the battery?) and then it might come back on, i'll try that first. I did speak to someone at Iron Cross who I think did the install and they said it was probably lost power to the unit (loose connection) which in the end it might be. I'll check the battery disconnect first before I tear open the fairing to look for a loose connection. Turning power off on the bike does't fix it, but maybe disconnecting the battery will. Thanks

Ira it's usually really easy to reset that Metra module. Sometimes when I clear the bluetooth cache on my phone and it reconnects it will disappear like that. All I have to do is pull the main fuse under the side cover (clutch side) for a few seconds and it will then show back up on the display as an option and work fine.
