It sounds okay, I can definitely hear it on the highway vs the biketronics 6x9 that I was running. And it's a lot lighter with the High intensity neodymium magnet, I was always worried about my old lid breaking off when open because of the weight of the bikrtronic 6x9 with the big iron magnet.

Ordered the second part of my speaker upgrade, I'll be installing the american hard bag horn fairing grills that will accept a hertz st25 horn on each side and a bracket to mount a hertz SV165.1 speaker.

Now that I have the saddlebag horn and speakers dialed in it sounds great and much cleaner than my biketronic speakers in the fairing, so hopefully these new fairing setup will tie the system together a little better. Then it will be time to update the lower speakers.

Also wasn't happy with the plain saddlebag speaker grills and decided to try some painted ebay grill covers, they fit and looks so much better to me. Worth the $45 to me.

Fairing grills and 6.5 adapters arrived, Hertz sv 165.1 speakers won't be here until Mon, also picked up some sound dampener to use on the inside of my fairing.

Pulled out the biketronics 7.1's and but the hertz horns and 6.5's in, huge improvement. I'm a fan of biketronics and have used their stuff for years but they don't compare to this new setup.

Also used some sound deadening material in the fairing to see what that's all about, figured for $20 it was worth a try.

Time to pull the biketronics 6.5's out of the lowers and slap some hertz in there as well.

wow that's a dream setup, mind share some Information on the mounting of 2 x bt4180? I am planing to redo my 2013 street glide since my BT7.1 frame broken, did the speaker lids leak have any leaking issues? Hearing what you mentioned in comparison to the BT speakers, I am really excited to hear what your bike sounds like now.

I have one BT4180 in the fairing and one in a saddlebag, fairing pushes the two fairing speakers and the lowers. Saddlebag amp powers the lids with two channels and I'm looking to add a couple 8" in the saddlebags as well for the other two channels. I haven't been caught in the rain since installing but I do have rain skins that I put over the lids when it rains, I have to stop to put a rain sock over my intake filter anyways so it's not an issue. I don't long distance tour with this bike any longer due to back issues, so since it's more of a local bike I decided to upgrade the audio.

I have recently upgraded the lower speakers from the biketronics 6.5's to some Hertz 6.5's, much better sound. The good thing about biketronics is they have a lifetime warranty but I 'd rather have better sound.

Hey, do you happen to have a part number of those lower speaker grills? Tried to find them but no luck. They look flatter than the aftermarket ones I have. I'm running the heavy breather and it sits right on the grill....almost touching. Thanks.
