I have a 2016 Tri Glide Ultra with the Boom 6.5 GT audio system. It's fine for around town, but out on the highway it's not loud enough especially for my wife because she wears a full face helmet.
I've never upgraded speakers nor installed an amp on any of my motorcycles before, so I'm asking you folks with experience and more knowledge, as to which brand of speakers are the best for loudness and clarity at 60+ mph, and which amp is the best.
I don't want to break the bank cost wise on this upgrade. I just want a clean sounding and louder system than what Harley thought the Boom! system was.
I know Harley has the Boom! Audio stage I and II kits, but I wonder if they are really any better than the stock Boom! speakers?
I've heard Rockford Fosgate can be good speakers, but what about JL Audio, Alpine, Kicker, and these newer brands that I've never heard of before - Hertz, Mmats, etc?
Are the 4 speakers on the Ultra's and Tri Glides all 6.5" speakers?
Thanks!
