So I can get the amp to sit nicely in this spot, BUT I have to force push for the holes to line up. See below. Should I try to make this work or will I regret it later and break the plastic??
Here is the 2nd amp sitting snug.
Here are the holes just off from connecting.
Here is me forcing a bit to make holes line up.
This is what the wire end looks like but up to the fuel gauge.
If you cut the tab off that the speaker wire was pinned to on the pod and the amp slide to the front would it help it line up? If so Id do that before forcing it to line up. Plus in the pic it doesnt Look like its gonna fit very well once the wires are in where the gauges are

My best advice for fitting amps in a RG is to get the XEL Customs amp rack. @Adenton528 at Aggressive Audio can get them for you. I have both the center rack and the two side racks. The side racks require vent delete, but I ran just the center rack for quite a while by itself and it was a game changer.
Center Rack only with two SD1200.4 EvoX amps on it:
All three racks installed, but you can see the center rack better by itself:
You might be able to heat the speaker pod with a heat gun a little to get that extra 1/4 inch. I havent tried that myself but it might work. I eventually went with the lex amp in my road glide too. It will be well worth it to be able to put much larger amps in the fairing. I wish I wouldve done it sooner .

Side Racks... require A LOT more work
so dumb question if you have the side panel, what does the upper speakers connect to?

i might try this. Problem is I have to have bike done by Saturday to take to Georgia to Maxwells new Motorcycle shop. So I dont know if the rack will get to me in time. All of the wires are ran except for the lowers, waiting on 1/4 waterproof loom.

modifying the pod is your only choice if you want the amp to sit there. I just tried to mount a 400.4 evox there and like your pic shows its 1/8-3/16 too wide

i didnt put it there. I just put it sideways on top of the headlight. I put a 250.2 in that spot instead
Yeah my Metra amp rack stops that from happening. I was going to mount one amp there, my NVX fits perfect on the left where I want to put the EVO on the right side. Do you think its a bad idea to force it on the right or even cut out where the amp will sit??
