Default Upgrade Help

My 2014 was totaled in July and pulled the arc 600.4 and the Sony 5000. I left the 5x7’s in the lids and sold them as I know I want 6x9’s in my new bike. I bought a 2019 with the GTS head unit and stock speakers.

I want to keep the stock unit and find a Better system.(Good Better Best). I don’t need to win awards system but I want my GF on back to hear at freeway speed with a full face helmet. I want to be more on the plug n play like the Stage 3 from Rockford Fosgate system. I love how bag install works and how clean. I just wish it had the SQ of maybe the Mmats. I could use the 600.4 and buy the Mmats but I don’t have a way to get the lids done or the line out eq.

suggest a good route if you had 1500 ish to spend with the 600.4 or sell it and go a total different route.

You have a couple of ways you can go. Buy the RF kit and sell the speakers. Or order Advanvlack lids that are painted and ready for 6x9s. Nothing wrong with 600.4 and plug and play is over rated. No matter what you get you stall have to pull the fairing, seat and tank. After that it is wires and connectors,

The Mmats are a great choice for your speakers. I haven't used that amp, but you already have it so it's worth trying. Not sure if it is line in, or RCA. If it's RCA in, you could probably look at the BT355 Biketronics line level converter. Biketronics would be able to help you out with info to connect from your HU to your amp.
The Rockford cut in speaker lids are a decent kit, unfortunately the speakers are lacking, so guys often sell them on here, or the local buy and sell pages. That leaves you open to upgrade to the Mmats.

Thank you for the feedback. I have decided to use the arc amp order bk355 LL and the mats 6 1/2 and 6 x 9’s for the speakers. I love advenblack and have had good luck with their bags and trunk I just don’t like the way their 6 x 9 fits and looks. I like the stock look of the Rockford Fosgate and think I might go that route and just sell the speaker separately.

I have the RF lid kit. Its a great kit with a few drawbacks. As others have mentioned you'll soon be looking to ditch the speakers. The other issue is the modifications you need to do to make others fit. I just installed the Diamond Audio Coax subs but it wasn't easy. A lot of grinding to make them fit flush and seal. Minimal modifications to install Mmats however. I like the looks of the Hogtunes lids but by the time you buy everything you need and get them painted it gets expensive. Good luck

There's not much mods needed to get the mmats 690's to fit the RF lid kit. The kit mounting holes wont line up with the mmats speakers, so just drill new holes in the speaker flange. Also there was a lip or location edge on the kit I had to grind down so the speakers would sit flush in the kit. Its only about an inch long or so, so dremel tool works fine and only takes a minute. Think about adding some weather proof quick connects for the rear speakers so removing bags is easier when you need to.
