Juice, I'm still running the PRV 6MR500 8 ohm in My Lowers and they round out the sound nicely.
I was tempted to try a set of 6MR500CF 4 ohm but not sure if it's worth the change or should I look for a different speaker altogether.
Maybe I should just leave well enough alone, LMAO!!!!!!!
Mike
What are you choices on midrange and/or midbass drivers?
Please no MMAT coax talk!!!! And no Stinger amp either for that matter..
Give examples of a good 6.5 and why you like them, strengths for your given speaker..
If you have used some of the 8's please cite the same..
The forum has been dead lately!! Let's have a good discussion.

i am currently running hertz 1800.3 in my fairing mounted in bt brackets with Beyma sql 60’s morning n jarz pods and couldn’t be happier. My question is what good midrange for the lowers? I am currently running hertz sv 165’s but they are dated and newer technology speakers are out there. A good friend told me about the faital 6FE200 for the lowers and I am going that route if I don’t change the lowers to 8”. I’m not disliking the sv’s just looking for better. Damn unicorn.
BTW has anyone tried these speakers? The specs look decent except the efficiency.

Those PRV will stay around for a while. Bang for the buck they are nice, and plenty loud. We never leave anything the same for long LMAO.
Not new but, a better bang for the buck would be the the faitals 6fe200 . They are just as loud and can be tuned a little lower/warmer.

I have the 8mr500 in my lowers and while they do sound nice looking for something a little warmer in that location.
Yes, good speaker for sure.. PRV are loud and proud!! especially the new CF models. They are not really a warm speaker in my opnion and they compliment a system with good lows for sure. Warmer speaker in a 8" lower look at a few of the Ciare models. They have a nice response curve and some don't need a ton of power.

I should also mention Im running the GZ 6.5 YB in my fairing yeah I know they arent really meant for that location but I thought I would try it. What I like about them there they arent ear piercing like the Prv 6mr500 were. Con they are only 93 db so I have to dial back my 8s in lowers a touch to blend them. Thought about pulling them out but am going to add some poly to the lowers first to see what that results in.
My front stage currently is Faital 6hx150 in fairing and prv 8mr500 lowers. That combo works for me. The prv hit hard and warm when tuned right. The Faital have a nice clean look and sound with a broad detailed midrange with the internal horn/comp. Faital work well in the pods and have good upper midbass hit.
