Default Twisted 8 lids

Looking at possibly doing the Speed By Design twisted 8 speaker lids for my 14 Streetglide and looking for opinions and thoughts on them - I’m sure they are loud being an 8” speaker with horns ... do they leak ? Does the 8” speaker take up a lot of room on the top side on the saddlebag ? Knowing what you know now about them, would you go with those lids/speakers ? Any and all input is welcome ! I looked through the other threads, didn’t find my answer so ...
Thanks !!

I had them on my bike for a short time. They were very loud with the PRV speakers, but had a great tune which helps. They are thicker than advanblack by a good bit. Very solid and heavy. Never saw any leakage. Takes zero space in the bag. All the speaker parts are in the lid only. The only negative to SBD (in my opinion) is the cost to get some paints put on it.

Thanks Jester0618 ! Why only a short time ? I wasn’t impressed with any of Advanceblk products when I saw their tour paks and saddlebags, rather do it right with quality the 1st time - did you buy the neoprene covers for rain that they sell ? Thanks again,I appreciate it !!

I don't run the lids, but I use the covers for my bike. If I get caught in a downpour, it's just to keep most of the water off of them. I don't leave them on after a rain. I'm afraid they'll tap moisture. They are just for downpours.

Well, I decided to go back to more stock. Looking at a CVO instead. As for advanblack, I've had good and bad. The lids were a tad thinner, but they included the seals. SBD does not include paint or seals. I don't often ride in the rain, but the speakers were marine rated so if too much water, I opened the lid and the water drained out.
