even mounted in the saddlebag? don't know what amp to get. It will only be powering them in the bags. Im sure you can spend $$$$$$. On a budget so it may be ok
yesh i think some have reported fm loss even in tourpack or saddle bags.
I'm sure there are other fm friendly amps that would get you the power you'd need. Honestly though, I was worried about not having fm as well initially. Now I dont miss it at all. I either stream music with Spotify or another service, or play music through Android auto from my phone storage.
what would be a good amp to power them? Without blowing them up
It was really not the power that smoked them, I tried to play they too low - distortion smokes speakers - which is why a DSP is nice in your set-up to set the frequencies

I wouldn't know where to start setting my dsr1 for my set up

I would recommend you look at the speakers frequencies for each speaker - the G 7x10 - Freq Response 35 Hz 25 kHz & set the DSR 1 highs and lows within these perimeters - start with something conservative and experiment from there
There are some info you can find thru GOOGLE on the internet about speaker distortion

I ran a set off of a Diamond micro 4V2 bridged and they rocked! I did also have a DSP, so that helped. I can't remember setting though.
