There aren't many 6.5" speakers that can handle that kind of power with a DSP. This one won't handle that much with a DSP either. 300 watts would be max or pretty dang close to it.

Shoot as we had mentioned before I get good sound out of the GZs in my batwing with only 150 clean watt with a tune on them from a DSP. They sounded OK with a flat signal going to the amp but didn't have much punch, just loud and clean. I just dropped the mid frequencies a little bit and it added some punch.

I guess in some cases when folks need to run big wattage to these things hearing loss, wind and exhaust noise may be a factor.

Will let you guys know here soon how they sound. I'm going to match my gain to 39.5 volts while running test hrtz and multimeter. Should be sending around 330 watts from guys who do this everyday. Shut off low pass and bass boost and run high pass around 85 Hertz

It's only a set of speakers fellas. Push em to the limit!

What does the amp have to do with pushing too much power to a speaker that cant handle it??

Or speaker brand for that matter, if that's what you meant. Too much power is too much power.

Carlos knows his **** but he's gonna get a lot of folks in deep water that think they can emulate what he does in his videos. You cannot run that much power to them without a DSP. Period.
Bingo! And all of his videos, he says he's "sending them 400w". Well he has his amp set to 400w, but I haven't heard him turn the volume up all the way to actually get 400w to them. It's a little misleading. He also a professional who's job is to not blow speakers, so he specially knows how to set them up. Guys needs to stop thinking can just throw a punch of power at something because they saw a video of a guy doing it.

One thing to consider is how do you want these speakers to sound? If you want as much volume as possible then feed it watts. If you find that you want some more low end lower the wattage going to them so you can lower the crossover point. Crossovers in the 80s probably sound fine but I left mine set at 50 with 150 watts going to them and really like lows these things produce. I can still crank them plenty loud and can hear the bass guitars as well as the kick drum while out on the highway. The other six speakers I have in play have higher crossovers since they have to overcome more distance and wind noise than the fairing speakers do.

As always ymmv.
