Glad he was able to help you out. I've been tied up all day or I would've been glad to assisted. I mainly glad that you finally realized how big of a mistake you were about to make blindly following their advice.

Greatly apprciated. Been reading and watching vids for the past 2 days. Still feel I'm clueless and hope my choice of speakers are good. Few people said I should have went with the prv or diamond mp654. I know I dont have beyma euphoria sound legion monies.

Lots of opinions lol to put it simple. Makes me dizzy haha

I thank you all for the help. I do feel pretty confident in how to set up the amp and tune it decently now.

Crossovers in the 80s probably sound fine but I left mine set at 50 with 150 watts going to them and really like lows these things produce. I can still crank them plenty loud and can hear the bass guitars as well as the kick drum while out on the highway. The other six speakers I have in play have higher crossovers since they have to overcome more distance and wind noise than the fairing speakers do.

As always ymmv.
My GZ coaxials are powered by Ch1 and ch2 of my SD800.4 evo amp (4ohm), I did the gain setting using a DMM and it shows that the maximum I can get is132w to each speaker, but to get this I needed to turn the gain **** to the maximum, is it OK to keep it this way, I left it a bit before the maximum at 130w. Appreciate your feedback.

If you are using a DMM then you set the gains with that. Determine the max volume with the DMM and then play pink noise at that max volume. Put the DMM in line and take your gains up until you see the distortion light come on. Back the gains down until it goes out. That is where you leave the gains. DO NOT take them to max. In most cases, the gains will be between 11 and 12 on a clock dial.

I did all this, and the max I got was 132w and the gain was turned to the max, as I mentioned, I left it at 130w, shall I just ignore the DMM numbers and keep the gain at 12 o'clock? And what might happen if I will leave the gain a bit before the maximum?

I told you wrong. I was thinking you were using a SMD distortion detector. You need to set your gains using the volt meter to the specs n this chart: Around 23V per channel with the volt meter. Then you can tweek it by ear. Ive been up since 9 am yesterday and my mind is foggy. Sorry for the mis- information.

Yes I used the digital multi metre, and I targeted 23v, to get the 23v which is around 130w I had to turn the gain to almost the maximum, will this cause any damage to the amp or the speakers? I also reduced the master level and te peakers level in my DSR1 almost to the minimum to adjust the sound distortion with my stereo volume turned up to 75%.

Whats your thoughts about it?
