Default Dsp how to have it tuned

First I apologize for this being so long and have seen in previous threads this has been posted almost the same way but here we go. I have an 05 Electra glide and I am currently running gz 6.5 coaxials in my front fairing and looking to upgrade to putting the hertz neo 6x9 on a lid kit. I am currently running a sd400.2 and looking to upgrade to either a single as 800.4 evox or a 1200.4 evox however have read in a few places the 1200.4 will not perform on those speakers as god as 2 of the 800.4 I know would get a lot more out of the 2 800.4 but can get better deal on the 1200.4 than can on 2 of the 800.4 right now. I honestly wouldn’t mind doing
the single 800.4 and adding a second sometime through out the year but have also read a lot of y’all do not recommend that much power to these speakers just because someone can doesn’t mean all can. So back to my main question should I get the dsp which will be a dsr1 with a tune that they do from an online retailer or have shop that does these systems send me tune? This is all kind of new to me.

If you have an aftermarket headunit I would not recommend a dsp for 4 coax speakers. The eq and crossover on most headunits will be fine to control those speakers. A 1200.4 4ohm amp would be plenty to run those speakers.

Man Carlos is making killing off of his videos!

For the average rider, a 2 ohm 1200.4 will be more than plenty to run those 4 speakers without a DSP. Up to 300w per speaker.

I know someone who used him. Not bad for $150. There still adjusting and tweaking that need to go into it.

Here’s my uneducated, nonprofessional, cheap opinion: $200ish for DSP, $150ish for tune and a little more for wiring it up. So let’s total of $400. I don’t think your going to notice a $400 difference in sound on a 4 coax speaker install. Again it’s your money. And then what happens when the DSP has an issue? Who’s going to solve it? Better off spending some time educating yourself and doing own tune.

I have been contemplating this as well I just don’t want to leave any untapped potential on the table and am looking for a sound that I’m unsure my eq can give me. I have heard systems with the build I’m looking to do without a dsp and a line leveler but I have also heard similar with a dsp and sounded clearer.

In process. I know in Texas it has been cold but for a month has been -22 ish with snow constantly. I told him I would reach out after a slight warm up. But like everyone else don't want to leave anything on the table. On the money side. I keep buying stuff to try and make it better. So it is a money pit anyway. So what the hell. lol
