Hello all, this is my 1st real post and I have a question for those with Boom Box / Bluetooth expertise .
In 5 days time my wife and I along with 2 others are riding across the country to Perth which is about 4,000 km west and after that we will be heading north to the Port Headland area which is another 1,800 km and then slowly head back home. All up return trip will be about 12,000 kms (7,500 miles.
Now to the question. I have the HD wired headsets which work very well and I can phone either of our friends as they both have the Sena 20S. They can talk to each other from bike to bike. ............................... is it possible to Bluetooth my boombox to their Sena. I have my android phone Bluetoothed and my wife's IPhone Bluetoothed, so maybe it is possible ? I think I can if I buy HD's bluetooth set up, but I don't want to have to rob a bank to do so.

I don't see any advantage of your attempting to bluetooth their Sena 20S to your bike. If you did, I don't think you would want their headsets telling your bike system what to do.
From what you describe, you are looking for a way to talk with them bike-to-bike. For that, I would think you need to have a wireless headset that could mesh with them. Keep in mind, if you switch to wireless HD, you will also need the WHIM for that headset to communicate with the bike. Plus, if you install the WHIM, you will lose the ability to use the wired headsets.

If you want to communicate with your friends, you just need to pair your Sena with theirs. Then follow Sena's instructions for setting up the intercom. This is done on the Sena app on your phone. Once it is setup, you would click the button on the Sena to open the intercom and everyone on it can communicate. Without the WHIM, everything is setup between the Sena headset(s) and your phone. You would have to set your prompts from the Boom to the bike's speakers to hear them. You can listen to music either from your phone to the Sena or through your bike's speakers.

I don't think he has a Sena - believe he said he was wired

Short answer - NO, you can not turn your BoomAudio into a compatible communicator with a Sena system without robbing a bank. You need the Whim system and evidently a new Harley headset if you wish to retain stereo. There is another thread that goes thru all this and the ups and downs of the conversion, including the need to return to Harley to evidently have your bike "re-flashed".

You're right... So if I could have edited my post, I would say, to get around not using HD branded Sena and WHIM, he can use any Sena compatible (pairable) Bluetooth headset to communicate with his friends.

Many thanks to all who replied.
After thinking about it I came to the same conclusion .......... it can not be done !
At least not the way I was thinking of, and besides, while they might be good friends, they are not THAT good !
