2015 Ultra with stock Boombox:
is it possible to use wireless ear buds with this system ?

You would need a WHIM, Sena Freewire, or similar to use wireless BT earbuds. The Boom! 4.3, GT, or GTS HU will pair a BT media source or a phone using BT HFP (handsfree profile). This is not the same as supporting HSP (headset profile) required by BT headphones or earbuds which is not natively supported.
