Well, the more I play with the software it does become easier. The 31 bands can make you over think your tuning.

31 bands vs 10 or 7 in the majority of the dsp's we have used is a huge step in the right direction. With a 10 band your cuts or boosts sometimes had to cover more of an area than you'd preferably have with the 31. With this the precision of your tuning will greatly increase. For average joe maybe it's not necessary. But if trying to squeeze every bit of potential out of your system it will be better than ever.
I do agree that there is some room for improvement on the output labeling and assignment. Luckily you can work around this with the input mixer.
I look at it like this. A 103 motor is good enough and gets us down the road. But dudes always do motor upgrades to get more power. This dsp is no different. The cost is justified simply by giving you more flexibility with more channels and tuning capability.
