is your concern just software based, or does the ne unit not have the same level of functionality that the Dsi-2 has? i was thinking of the upgrade cuase id like to have the extra channels.

Software is different, then the inputs are dongle type like the DSR1. It also wants you to label your channels and wants you to run stereo, you can play with the mixer and get a mono signal for those that need that to get more out of your amps.
I would have to get creative to get it in there. The dsi-2 is already a tight fit and quite a but smaller. Never know what might happen next winter..
Messing around briefly on my phone it has some nice features. The octave signals is a huge improvement. 31 bands is awesome. The linking of signals seems a bit weird . I will download it to my laptop and play some more. I can definitely see the advantage of this software for fine tuning.
