Looking to upgrade the sound on my bike. 2020 SGS. Just ordered the Bad Dad 6x9 lids for the rear. Budget is open, I know I will spend at least 2-4k.
I almost pulled the trigger on the following:
Fairing - Diamond M075T Horns with Diamond MSPro65
Bag Lids - Diamond MP694 with Cerwin Vega P75T horns.
Amp - Sound Digital 800.4 EVOX
I liked the bright sound, but felt it could use a little more low end.
End of day, had a scheduled appointment to get it installed, arrived at time, waited 1.5 hours and shop never opened, so I left. Got a call about an hour later from owner of shop asking when I was coming by, then he got pissed at me when I told him I was having second thoughts about using him since he couldn't even respect my time and be there when he said he would.
Anyways, don't want subs in the bags, and pretty sure I want to also add a DSP.
There are many routes you could go it all depends on what you are looking for. First you need a real number that you are willing to spend because there is a huge difference between a 2k system vs a 4k system especially if you are doing the work yourself. How much room are willing to give up in your bags? How important is all weather riding? What kind of music do you predominately listen to? What kind of riding do you do? Just some things that you should think about before you drop few grand on a system.

I would like to keep as much room in bags as possible. I do not want subs. Also dont want to change the head unit.
My music is mainly rock, classic through modern.
My riding is 50/50 Street going to work and back and Rural routes around the SW. I try to stay off the superslabs as much as possible.
Not too concerned about weather. Pretty dry out here in the desert.
Easy route you could go that wont set you back a lot of money and sounds good would be to get a SD 1200.4 evox (2 ohm version) bridged and run a set of GZ coax yellow baskets in parallel off one of the bridged channels and run a pair of the Hertz SX 690's in parallel off of the other bridged channel. This setup has good midbass and volume. The speakers are weatherproof and the 6x9 are very light and take up minimal space inside the bags. There are several DSP's out there that will get the job done.

What are your suggestions, opinions, etc..
if you want a shop to do it, then take it to Phoenix. Insane asylum motorsports or voodoo bikeworks will get you right.

This is what I have except I use all 4 channels inividually and still push 200 ish to a speaker. They're plenty loud and sound good. I hate bright systems too. If I get a DSP I'll probably bridge them L/R but want to make sure I have more control first.
I personally run identical setup gz up front hertz sx690 lids w two 800x4 bridged and a dayton 408. I'm running 325 to each speaker and it pounds and is crystal clear. Great setup 👌
