I mostly listen to XM in the truck, but occasionally other sources. Just this morning I switched over to BT to listen to a song on youtube music. Volume for XM was about half and pretty loud. Turned it over to BT and could barely hear it....window was down. I had to crank it up to 3/4 to get it as loud as the XM source was.

Bike is the same way, thought not as extreme. Mainly listen to music apps through Android Auto, but if Im working on the bike sometimes BT will connect and start playing a song. Its a little less loud than wired in AA>
You know I forgot to mention a lot of aftermarket head units have individual source volumes. The Sony in one of my personal trucks has that feature. I think I bumped up the bluetooth volume one click and it seemed to match everything else. I wonder if that is a feature that may catch on in the future or is it just something a few venders implemented?

I'm pretty sure my bike has independent volume levels based on sources.

I know my truck(tacoma) has. It comes in handy sometimes...other times its mildly annoying.

I installed the SD800.4 and the GZ yellow baskets in the fairing, and had my HU flashed with the RF flash. It loud and sounds good.
Would I gain much by adding a dsp? Iv read good things about the Dayton 408 dsp.
Thoughts?

Yes and no. A DSP, if tuned correctly, will improve any speaker. BUT, it has to be done correctly and that's not an easy task. GZ's out of the box are pretty good by themselves. You just need to decide if the $200ish plus install and learning DSP tuning is going to give you that much back in return......

I'm saw a Dayton with the Bluetooth dongle for 150.00 kinda high for being used. Was going to offer much less than that being a year old.
I don't mind the time it will take to learn how install and tune, exapecially if I don't have to remove the fairing Everytime to make adjustments

A DSP is definitely not a must have item with that system, but it is nice to have the ability to do a bit of fine tuning.
Like you mentioned, the biggest benefit is the ability to make changes without opening the fairing.
The real benefits kick in if you start adding extra components down the road.
