at risk of riling the posse ...

IMO you would be way better off beefing up the ground strap to carry the load and then move the amp ground from your battery to the frame ground point

that was my thinking. why cant we ground to the amp tray. No ground due to the steering colunm?
I will run the modified ground to the battery to keep in line with the instructions.
Can someone please tell me why there is not a better ground for the front end?!?!

actually, running your amp ground (battery) to a different location than your HU (fairing) creates a potential for GL.

There is a good ground from the front end to the frame but it may not be sufficient to carry the load of some of the amp configs you guys are running up there. I suppose you could always beef that ground up to carry the load if needed. I just ground to the HU myself. I'm running a BT 4180.14 and rarely go above 1/2 volume so the stock grounding works just fine for me.

I just don't trust a ground connection being made through a set of head steering bearings. I know the battery or grounding lug is a solid connection.

Bought off Amazon through a link from a well known AdvanBlack distributor we all know on YouTube.
Should have just bought the pieces instead of a kit. Next time, right?

metra amp kits are the way to go. I'm sure there are other brands though. I couldn't find metra in Amazon for some reason. But plenty of online retailers sell them.

If I were you I would ground in the fairing then.

Maybe even ground ur amps on your metal mirrors or handlebars?

Having numerous "potential" grounding points following numerous potential path to actual ground is a recipe for a hack job audio setup.

2 cents.

aaannnddd.... the here comes the posse

BTW I completely agree on your last point. I think grounding parts of your system (such as sources and amps) in different places does raise the potential for a GL although I wouldn't call it a "hack job" as so many of you guys do it daily.
