Hey folks. I have a set of the Diamond coax subs in my bags and both of them had the capacitor blow up and the spider separated from the woofer. They were crossed at 80hz 12 db slope and the levels were set with a DD1+ with no over lap. Any ideas what caused this? Oddly enough the woofers still play.
by the way I have hated these from day one and I am waiting for a set of Hertz Hertz NEO 690 to arrive. Been on order for a month and a half
mine have been just fine for a solid year plus now, i like the way mine sound, better than the hertz i replaced, though i have heard good things about those new hertz 6X9's I have mine crossed lower than that too.

My new Hertz NEO 6x9 just showed up. They sound way better than Diamonds did. I have been trying to contact Diamond for a warranty replacement but I havent had any luck yet. If they do get replaced I wont put them back in anything. Huge advantage to the NEO is how small and light they are as well.

the old MPX 690.3 Mille Pro's the Diamonds are a bit brighter and a bit more bass. better for the lids while riding IMO. I haven't tried the new Hertz ones, their less weight and size would be a big plus.
