I've modified a used set of JL grills to work on the lowers and the rear speaker pods adapters on my 05Ultra. Just had to shave the OD a little to fit into the lowers.
Those Metras do look nice. About the only difference I can see from the Chinese grills I have is they seem to not stick out as far. I'm not too bugged about that but I always like to have options available if I change things around. Thanks for posting that link.
Just to see I ordered a set of these. The label says "Harley Style". I don't know what they fit but they don't fit my lowers. They are much larger in diameter and won't drop down into the hole. Here is a pic of them to show the difference in diameter.
Are those the Metra's I linked? They look different?? You do have to trim the back of the bolt posts with a dremel to set the height. I have mine set you you can just fit a business cards between. Looks perfect.
I'm not sure what you mean about not dropping in the hole? They aren't supposed to? I hope this pic helps bro.

Yeah those were the ones in the link you posted. When I mentioned dropping down in the hole I meant like the factory CVO grills do. Here is a pic of mine:
Follow up, I didnt end up doing 6.5 speakers in the lowers. Keeping the gentleman in his budget. But I appreciate all the feedback. Its been informative.
