I have a 2019 Triglide. Recently installed JM Rokker extreme 700 system. I am a little disappointed with the overall sound quality. It has the volume and clarity at low speeds, not so much at 70 with considerable loss. Additionally, the sound is greatly lacking in depth. The best way to explain is to turn on your tv with the enclosed speakers and then switch to a good quality surround system, the best way I can explain depth. Recently our chapter was having run and someone passed me on a late model road glide CVO and there was a very noticeable increase in the sound quality from the factory system on the CVO. Do I have any options or, am 1i kind of married to what I have? Thanks for any suggestions.
This is typical of the JM systems and comments on them by people who have them. It's no secret. They're over rated and over priced. Only fix I've seen is rip it out for a real quality system. And the new Stage whatever Rockford system harley has is not it. Soundz, biketronics etc. There's a few more that are straight plug and play that blow away the JM and are cheaper.
I'd go into the audio section. Trike don't matter. It's a sound system. You'll get far more answers and people that know a lot more than me.
I have the Biketronics BT2180.14 in my bike. 2 channel 180w per. And it straight smokes the new RF 100 watt system at half the price.
I have a 2019 Triglide. I had a boom 1 system installed with 1 amp and 4 speakers. I have no trouble hearing at 75 mph on interstate with about 60% volume. (Considering I am extremely hearing impaired [flew helicopters for 33 yrs], have stage 1 and 2 with Vance and Hines pipes). I had considered getting a J&M system at bike week in Daytona. They had just installed one on a similar trike and I had an opportunity to listen to it. Could not hear any of the human voice on the music at volume. It was horrible for me. Got a Harley boom system and everything is clear as a bell. World of difference
Unfortunately the J&M is what it is. Had J&M 5 years ago. Just did not cut it. So out it came. You can sell it easy enough, someone will take it off your hands. I wouldn't sell it to a friend though, lol.
Harley rider is recommending a Boom upgrade. Glad he is happy, but if you're doing this over again, you may as well do it right this time, which means skip right on by the Boom Audio, Rockford Fosgate, and Soundz gear. Lots of better stuff out there for the same or less money.
Mmats, Ground Zero, Hertz, DB Moto, etc. All depends on your budget.
The old standby, Stinger SPX 700 amp, and some Mmats PA601cx Coax will easily out play Boom Audio and the Rockford system hands down, and will cost way less.

I have this setup (along with MMats 6x9's in my lids) and am very happy with it.

For the average guy looking for an all weather rider, the Mmats and Stinger set up still holds its own. It is plenty of sound for most guys out there without spending huge bucks. Easily out plays Boom and the Rockford Systems I've heard.
I upgraded my Stinger amp to the Massive TX48 for a little more power and more volume, added DB Moto G2'S to the lowers, DB Moto WDX8's to the lids, and added a DSP.
Ggreat system. Plenty of volume.
