Default Rf/hd???

Has anyone done the change to the Rockford Fosgate speaker/amp? It looks like the primary amp location is the saddlebag, can that be done in the fairing instead?

I know a bunch will reply with other "better" options, this is just curiosity because I haven't been able to find an answer to adding tour pack speakers to my street glide with Boom! stage 2 in the fairing and saddlebags. Meaning I've got 2 amps for 4 speakers, i want one amp in the fairing for 4 speakers.

I might be wrong, but im not sure why you couldn't put that amp in the fairing. Now the wiring harness that comes with it might be made longer to reach a connection point either under the seat or even in the fairing perhaps? Not sure.

you would have to redesign the whole wiring harness which would be more trouble than its worth in my opinion as far as moving the lication of the amp

I just had the RF amp and speakers added to my Street Glide (I have Sony 7000 HU). Amp went into fairing via their kit, wiring came for plug and play, and mine already had 4 speaker wiring from HD installed, so that part wasn’t involved. Only had to run power for the amp. Running the two fairing speakers and two in bag lids off the amp. Don’t know if that helps with what you’re looking for or not.

Initially thought I had enough sound just through the HU for the 4 speakers, then started noticing I couldn’t hear it as well at higher speeds (70+). Turns out it’s partly hearing loss on my part, but added the amp anyhow. Now it’s good except for lack of bass, which most bikes lack without a loss of bag space for 6x9s, which I’m unwilling to do. I just want to hear it while traveling, not compete.

Just finished the install on my 2021 RGS last night. I did the Harley powered by Rockford Stage 2 fairing speakers and amp only. Had to custom mount the amp under the radio, I removed the big connector block that gets mounted in the side of the bag. Depinned the plugs, and bought new molex connectors to put on the wire. Extended the power and ground wire so it could reach down to the battery. For my bike, with the bluetooth dongle, this also had to be mounted under the right side cover below the seat. Had to pull 2 canbus connectors out of the amp wiring harness and route them from the fairing down to by the battery. Everything worked great, and no amp tanking up space in my saddle bag.

Default How’s the sound?

I’m getting ready to drop the HD RF stage 2 4 speaker system on my 2021 Ultra. I haven’t heard it, just the CVO RF systems which are stage 1.

was the price point worth the improvement?

For that 1800 - 2200 bucks, you can do WAY better.
