Yeah, I dont think I wouldve been upset with any of the speakers I mentioned. I just couldnt understand how people were getting such warm sound from the Mmats when they have such a high frequency response. Im definitely no audio expert but I was swayed by the Arcs lower response frequency as well as that suspended tweeter I mentioned. If I had more money to burn I wouldve gotten both sets to do a side-by-side comparison. Lol
Im sure you will like the Arcs. Be sure to report back.
I only had about 10 min of play time on them. Gave them about 300w, set HP to 80. They sounded awesome. Clear, loud with good punch. Putting them in lowers.
Shock can you please confirm these were the CX65 and not the CH65.

He was talking about the 8" speakers. I can tell you that I have a set of 8" Cicada that I'm installing on my bike and I am very impressed with them so far.

I've been looking at Cicada's closely...specifically the CX65 models. Wonder if they would be better in my fairing than the mmats.

I'm running the CH8's. I've heard a few sets of the CH65. They are loud, clear, a some punch.
I have not personally heard the CX's but I would just about guarantee the mmats are much better, with better lows as well. PA601cx's are a great speaker. Gypsy tried the CX in his TP pods and didn't like them.

Phew! Thanks Shock. Saved me a trip down another road.

I currently am running the CH65.2 and their DSP amp. Set up as bit-amped, and its great! I can hear it clear as day at 70mph, 2/3 volume. There is not a lot of low end to it, but that is expected. Im running just the fairing speakers and using the preset horn flashed EQ settings. I could penalty get more out of it if I tweaked it, but I like where its at. Had one bad speaker, but Cicada covered both and were replaced without any issue. Very much recommend these speakers!!!
Just an update, I decided to go with the Arc Audio CX6's. I got them for $395 from CreativeAudio. The GZs require pod modification and more power than I can provide with my RF amp; the Cicadas I couldn't find any real good info on them but they seem solid; finally the Mmats got great reviews and it was a tough choice between the Arc and them, but ultimately I liked the suspended tweeter on the Arcs since I feel the sound will be a little warmer, which I prefer.
I'll report back when they're installed and let everyone know how I like them.
Thanks for everyone's input!
I have 2 sets of Cicada co-ax horn 6.5 2 ohm and mid bass 6.5 2 ohm and arc audio moto 720 powering them, and I love them, crystal clear and handle what's thrown at them
