09 Ultra Classic w/ batwing fairing. Trying to squeeze 2 800.4's on a Kustom Cycle L amplifier rack. Took the amps out and could bolt up the fairing...i can feel the fairing bumping the edge of the amps when trying to attach it to the inner fairing.
Has anyone successful mounted 2 in the fairing?
My old amp was a SS Pn4 1000 - 4.75 W x 10.25 L x 1.50 H
I know some ppl have had to trim their white gauges to allow the amps to sit back in some applications. Might do a search for that here.
I searched & searched. I removed the AM/FM antenna (never use radio) and moved the tray in a little further and tilted it all the way down. The amps slide right to the back and touch the black trim on the big guages...I think I may have to trim the black off with a dremel and slide them back even more.
My inner fairing was removed and the shop installed a new one and did a horrible job with the wiring...it's a mess in there...this install is off to a horrible start!
I have 2 of the 800.4 mounted on a j&m amp tray. You gonna need to trim the back of the gauges and slide the amps back as much as possible. I used velcro on the tray to get the amps mounted as far back on the tray as possible.

So the back of the gauges...meaning the black mounting tabs that stick out or the gauges themselves? From what I can see, the tabs are what the amps hit when pushing them back.

just try trimming the tabs first then see if everything fits. If not work on the gauges next.
If you mess them up, buy new ones. Its only money. Lol
Carlos did put 2 800x4 in a 2013 but said it was a lot of work to get them in on his YouTube video.
I want to move my 2 sd 800x4 from the bags to fairing
BUT I have a greater challenge since I did the 95HD inner fairing with the Sony ax7000 this raised the radio up closer to the top. Now I know I could fit under the radio with some custom bracket work .
Good luck
