I might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure the RF HU gets it's keyed turn on remote power through the factory HD harness.
The blue remote wire in the add on harness that gets plugged into the HU when adding an amp, is the remote turn on power wire that goes to the remote power on the amp, to signal the amp to turn on.

I thought maybe it was for a RF amp exclusive as my SD amp already is tied in for remote off

If your amp is already tied to a keyed power supply, you won't need to connect that blue wire on the head unit to anything. Just tape it off. Your HU should be getting it's remote turn on and main power from the main factory harness.
