I finally got around to setting up my lowers. I used the pods in the link below with oem lowers. The Mmats fit without any adjustment but i have yet to see any of yall set-up with a gap like this lol. Is it maybe just the pods I got or am I missing something here. I thought about using the foam that came in the Mmats box but didn't think that would be a permanent solution. I guess I need to get some spacers to bring the speaker up
I always see people asking if things will fit not about making up space lol. I got the ss pn41000 delivered yesterday and already have hertz up top from the previous set up.
I have mmats in advanblack pods with CVO grills and they aren't set deep like that. In mine, the speaker flange is sandwiched between the pod and the grill with factory Harley speaker screws
After looking at your pic again, I think the only difference is my grills go into the opening like the speaker does, not setting on top of the pod surface like the chrome you have.
I have a set of 1/2" spacers on the way to make up some of the differ. I'm going to get some small cylinder something lol to set between the trim ring and the left over space to the speaker so the screws dont show.
The spacers i got dont fit inside the speaker pods so that's a no go. However im an avid Lego builder and went looking for something to use in the space between the trim ring and speaker. I found the barrels that were used as bullets for a lego shot gun. Im going to paint them black and once i put grills on nobody will no. I never knew id have to rig **** up but i guess that's what happens when you mix oem and Amazon parts lol.
Id someone has a better idea to take up the gap im listening
That's how that particular set of pods are designed by looking at the pics on Amazon. The very first review that I saw states that the guy had the exact same problem and had to use spacers. The lip that the speaker rests on is pretty deep compared to what I've seen. I have Mmats in my lowers and they don't sit that low but I purchased the complete speaker lowers from Amazon.

I guess i need to find a better spacer with leas circumference that will actually fit in the slot
