I must have missed switching to ac when checking the speaker terminal at the amp. I was stumped as to why everything was working but i the gains increase didn't make the meter move. When i did this with my other amp everything went fine but apparently i did it right that time. My new wires will be here today. I already have everything torn apart amd ready to run the new wires.
I guess my las question is my in line fuse. Its a 20amp but I'm not sure of the wire gauge. Does that even matter? It was ran with the fuse end connected to the batter and crimped to the power at the other end.
Other than all that the last task is putting water resistant fabric on the lowers. That stuff will be here Tuesday.
Not exact sure what gauge wire is connected to that fuse holder, but it definitely isn't heavy enough. Looks like 12 gauge. Everything from the battery, to the amp should be rated for at least 8 gauge, including the fuse holder.
So it was voltage drop, looking at that old power harness I'm not surprised. What is that on the power lead? A splice or connector? What was the black on it? Anyway, thanks for circling back and giving the update.

A regular connector that was wrapped in tape or the in line fuse. Not exactly sure what you talkin about. Either way it doesn't matter lol All that wiring was from like 8 years ago. I didn't do it so i guess i never thought about it much

Glad to hear you found the cause of VD and corrected the issue.
I have ran into that issue more than once while diagnosing 12 volt systems caused from faulty fuses, fuse holders and bad wires that were undetectable visibility wise because they "looked" good.
I rode down to Galveston and back yesterday. My first real impression of the Mmats is they are loud as ****. I do think the hertz i have in the lowers sound better tho, just to my ears. I turned it with the volume at 37 on my hu and usually had it at 30-34 amd heard everything just fine
I didn't change much of the radio setting to hone in the sound but i definitely need to. Its very trebley. I tend to keep my bass low because my heavy metal has a lot of heavy double bass drum beats. Overall though I'm happy as hell.
I caught rain on the way hole and in addition to some water resistant fabric for the lowers I sprayed camp dry and the water just beaded off.
My only issue is the same issue ive always had. Ever after using mp3 gain(i think that's the name) my songs are not at the ssme volume which makes me have yo adjust volume a lot. SRV plays low so ill put it on 37 and then slayer will come on and sound like it's at maxz volume. If I could get that issue fixed i think ill be set for another year lol
