I picked up a beautifully kept 07 ultra classic. I want to slowly upgrade the audio and dont want to backtrack as i upgrade. First order of business is changing out the stock hu, adding a cicada 4.150 dsp amp and replacing the stock fairing speakers with 6.5. My thought is that i could slave another amp down the line while using the dsp from the first amp and 6x9 lids or upgrading to 6.5 in the tour pack. I dont need the loudest system but i like good clean sound. My music style is mostly classic rock or good country (not the trash on the radio). I like decent bass but no need for thumping. Any recommendations on initial 6.5's for the fairing?

If going Coaxial, I strongly recommend Ground Zero Yellow Basket Coax or Mmats Pa601cx...both fantastic speakers.Originally Posted by monk77

Here is a video of a set of mmats pa601cx in a street glide with a stinger spx 700 amp:

How much of that sound is coming from the bags? What speakers are in the lids?
Do the yellow baskets have any water resistance?

When I reached out to the owner of that video, he said the arc 6x9's were in the bags. At that time, I didn't care about the Arcs...I was more interested in the fairing.Originally Posted by monk77

Yes, yellow baskets are weather resistant...so are the mmats if you get the water treated.
Here is a video of my personal set up. GZ Yellow Baskets in the lower pods, Mmats in the fairing, Hertz SX 165 Neo in the TP pods. A 1200.4 running the mmats & Neo's and an 800.4 running the yellow baskets.

With this set up, after a few hours of hwy riding, I found there to be too many tweeters involved (6 total). I have since removed the mmats from the set up, put the Yellow Baskets in the fairing, and will be putting a set PRV 6mr500-ndy-4 down below...hopefully that levels things out a bit for me. No DSP in play.

I have those MMats in my fairing (w/MMats PA690.4cx in the lids) with that Stinger amp in my Street Glide and I am extremely happy with the sound quality and they get loud. It's a fantastic budget system.Originally Posted by fastsoup

That is a very good budget system. The only draw back is the weight of the 6x9's. I have them in my lids. Originally Posted by AZBadgerFan
