Default Amp install question

I'm ready to install a new Arc Audio amp in my 2022 Streetglide special, if I remember correctly on my old Streetglide I had to take the bike in and have the system flashed to delete the stock built in amp, is this still the case and if so does anyone know of a way of how I can delete the stock amp myself without taking it to the dealership?

And can someone explain to me why the stock system amp has to be deleted.

FYI, there are other ways to change the head unit flash. Diag4Bike, techno research, and some radio shops that work on bikes.Harley is not the only game in town with audio capabilities.

Unless you had the Boom2 audio installed by the dealer, you don't have an existing amp, headunit only. The flash you need to to fix the equalizer curve. That can be done at many places, not just dealership.

Follow up question, what happens if I don't have flash, will it hurt anything or will the sound quality be affected.

It "can" hurt/damage the speakers depending the power sent to them and the sound quality is absolutely affected. The flash flattens the EQ curve and allows it to be amplified correctly. Get the flash.... most places will only charge you 25-50$. If you haven't bought your amp yet, may want to consider buying from AHB, they "loan" you the f;ash tool so you can do it yourself.
