I have looked and searched all over, could not find any comments or reviews yet of this unit on our Forum. Soundstream HD Head Unit for 1998-2013 Road Glides. Seems like the answer to all of my issues with a 2005 Road Glide and an antiquated radio. I currently run Sirius and Garmin remotely on the handle bars, hate the look. I would love to get one unit that has everything I need including Apple Carplay.
This is not my usual section on this Forum, looking for reviews and overall guidance. If there is already a thread on this unit, please point it out. Thanks in advance for all information.
I know Carlos did an extensive review on YouTube on that exact one.

Yes I saw his and the one from Jay from Volunteer did, it looks like the right unit, I was hoping someone here had real world experience. Maybe I will be the first!??!?!?!

I installed one about a month ago in a buddies 2013 RG,
It is a very nice unit.. fits as snug as a bug, very easy to mount, and there is a place to plug sxm into it.
call Jay at Volunteer Audio, he is a very nice and helpful guy.. I would recommend this unit it really is nice.

Do you know/remember what the balance of your buddies system was? Stock speakers? Amp? Rear speakers?
I currently have an old Hogtunes Amp and lid speakers, do not remember what the speakers in the fairing currently are, they have been changed a couple of times. I would guess Hogtunes again, but not sure.
I am just wondering about compatibility. For sure a call to Jay is in order, just trying to gather some facts first, thanks.

Soundstream 9813rg headunit.
Soundigital 1200.4 amp.
Db drive wdx6cd's in fairing.
Gz 6x9 yellow baskets in lids.
I did some digging around, Hogtunes amp for lid speakers, HT speakers. Front speakers are J&M. Going to Laconia later this week, getting the radio ordered will be my priority when I return. Need to make a phone call about the compatibility of my current antiquated system with the new head unit.
At Laconia last week I was able to see and mess with the HU in person, some random vendor. I was impressed. Then I called Volunteer, the balance of my existing system is compatible.
Unit ordered and I will report back after I receive.
I told my wife I saved $29k by not needing to buy a new bike, that's how this works right?
