Hd 50s headset
Hello all,
hd 50s dual headset with me and my wife. I want to use the bikes intercom when we use the scwelch button and i have all the vox disabled. But when making a noise such as coughing will still activate the intercom. Anyone have an idea how i can use the intercom only when I want to with the button? Thank you

OK, how about a bit more about your situation? What year bike are you riding. Do you have the GTS radio. Also, if you are using theHD50, are you trying to connect wirelessly. So, do you also have the WHIM installed?
Since you said you were pressing the squelch button, it sounds like you also have a CB installed.
From what I am reading from you, you are currently connected headset to headset - so are not using the bike system.

Not to hijack this thread but I'm also having trouble getting intercom using the HD 20S Evo headsets (with WHIM) working. I only want PTT (no VOX) to activate the intercom. I've turned off the CB (so as to not broadcast the conversation), turned on the intercom, and set VOX to minimum. In my case the reduced sensitivity seems to work as VOX doesn't kick in but then pressing the PTT doesn't work either.

If working, try this, push the PTT switch and start to say something. At the same time, click the volume button up. It might be what is needed.

i have a 2014 ultra limited FLHTK. when I hit the squelch (PTT) i see the intercom light up, so its working, but I only want it to work when hitting the ptt. Right now it reduces the music if I cough or other road noises the vox picks up. I have it disabled and when i try to go into the vox settings through the bike the menu hangs on it and I have to cycle the ignition to get back to the main menu. 4.3 boom radio.I have a WHIM installed.I want to connect to the bike so we both can listen to the radio and be able to talk to each other. Thank for any input.

You should also have a setting for your wireless headsets - make sure the vol is up.

When you press the PTT talk switch - do you see the intercom symbol light up? If so, this means it is working.
If working, try this, push the PTT switch and start to say something. At the same time, click the volume button up. It might be what is needed.
