I want to replace my OEM head unit, looked at HD's head unit and got some sticker shock. Shopping for an alternative and this head unit is a frontrunner. It's for a 2017 SGS. The HD part number is 76000829A

I have a USB cable coming out of the bike. Can you plug your phone directly into the USB cable and listen to music with this unit or do you have to connect wirelessly?
I asked elsewhere but didn't get a reply. With this 14+ unit do you lose the oil pressure / air temp / EITMS on off function? Do you need the 14si ?
You will need the SI to be able to have gauge functions. Youll have to look up which gauges youll be able to see as I dont recall. Volunteer Audio has several video on YouTube discussing the features which will probably answer most of your questions.

The USB would unplug from the HD unit and plug into the Soundstream unit. You can Bluetooth or use Apple CarPlay or android auto if plugged into the USB if your phone is capable. Ive found the output using BT doesnt get near as loud vs it being plugged in to the USB.
