Default 2024 SG/RG Audio Issues

Early builds of the 24 SG and RG came with SkylineOS software version 240002100 installed. As expected, there are some bugs. Carplay may drop unexpectedly, audio might not play through speakers, etc. One “quick fix” is to pull the main fuse, then put it back in. The real solution is a software update. HD Service Bulletin 1625 addresses the issues with an update to SkylineOS version 240002111D. To check you bike’s version, on your home screen go to Settings>System>System Info>Product Info. If you see the old version, your dealer can update it in about an hour.

had it done on Saturday, it fixed an issue they've been working on since before Christmas

I had a couple of 32gb dual flash drives ordered from Amazon and had planned on doing the update myself, however, my dealer called before the drives got to me and told me to bring it in at my convenience and they'd handle it right away....took em about an hour

it doesn't do anything to make the crappy RF audio stuff sound an better, but it doesn't cut out now

there's a whole new world of audio coming for these new bikes with the new designs

the pods in the fairing on the new batwing are super easy to remove...no articulating swivel flex tool needed to get to impossible to access bolts....if you have raised bars, you can switch speakers without taking the front of the faring off

the pods for bags are made to accept at least some 6x9 speakers without having to cut the basket or modify the bike in any way

there is no way to pull an audio signal from the head unit...it's a digital connection to the RF amp....so there are two ways to skin this cat if you want an upgrade

one fella is pulling a signal from an amp, running that through a dsp, then running the cleaned up signal to a new amp and then to speakers

that seems sketchy to me

another outfit is developing an interface/dsp combo.....it will take the signal from the head unit, act as a dsp, bypass the RF amp and feed straight to an aftermarket amp....from what i understand it's already being tested...if they can get it to work, it'll be a great way to make audio upgrades on the new head units simple

the folks working on the new interface are working with the same chip manufacturer who made the chips for the new head unit....HD is all in on this new head unit as well...i talked to the developer of the new interface on the phone about a month back....his sources have told him, HD ordered 100's of thousands of chips for the new head units, and as we are seeing, the '24 lineup has it on many of the new bikes

The software update on the HD site is new and I was not aware of it. It is dated the 7th of March.

And It does not make anything sound better!

Your right about a bunch of new audio coming soon.....

Now you can update at home but the dealer does it quick and painless.
