Are the head units the same for sg and rg? I thought I read the sg gts has a bevel on lip or frame so the ignition switch won't hit it. Wondering if there will be a gap when installing on a roadglide?
anyone have any experience or info on that?

Hmmm, I do know that one of my friends has an '18 RG that he installed the GTS HU from a '19 SG without issue. I am not aware of any differences for the RG. I will send him a text and see if he noticed anything.
I can also go look at my GTS and see if there is a bevel...stand by.
Here is a pic of my ignition switch and dash area. The "bevel" is cut into the facia/dash, not the frame of the head unit. I think you are good to go unless somebody else knows differently:
I Installed a GTS made for a SG on my 15 RG CVO, I had to cut some tabs from the inner fairing so that it can sit flush, no biggie they snapped right off, fit was perfect...
If you check Harley site for part numbers 76000834A (RG unit) and 76000829A (SG Unit) you will clearly see that they are quite different on bezels. Looks like with a little cut SG unit may be installed to RG but no vise versa.
If you use a RG radio in a SG, the bezel difference leaves a small gap between the radio and inner fairing. If you use a SG radio in a RG, tabs need to be removed.
