Default Tri Glide Audio Question

Who with a Tri Glide has upgraded their Stereo system to a new head unit, Im just tired of the clunky Harley radio and its old tech and all that goes with it.
Im really leaning towards the soundstrem unit but thought I would ask for some input, good bad or indifferent...
I still love my ride and really dont feel I need to get a newer bike ... Appreciate yall and constructive input

Please share why you believe the current system does not meet your needs? Perhaps someone here can assist.

As an example - what would you like for the system to do.

Well if the basics are enough
outdated maps, hard to read in any light, poor graphics, poor sound quality (yes I updated my speakers and added and amp) 400 for a satellite radio module, Bluetooth constantly disconnects and won’t reconnect until I shut the bike off and restart
I appreciate your response but I’m not interested in trying to fix this radio it served it purpose and Harley can’t figure out why it’s doing what it’s doing and suggested I replace it with another Harley radio so for that price I’ll go aftermarket hence my original question

I didn't care for the stock GT6.5 either. It was slow, clunky and not very adaptable. At the time, the alternatives were the Sony or upgrade to the GTS. I opted for the GTS, because it was faster, had CarPlay and Android Auto, could use my XM module, was waterproof and still had full functionality of the stock handlebar controls.

Sony at the time only allowed change tracks or radio stations and volume control. No onscreen functions were handled through the control. Today there are options available. IMHO the only 3 I would consider, would be the Soundstream, Diamond or HD GTS.

I bought my GTS used for a pretty substantial savings over new. I lean toward it because of the fully functioning controls, XM module and onboard Nav. With Android auto, I can use Google maps, but if cell service is sketchy, you can still use GPS of the radio.

Thanks - I understand your concerns. My hope was it may be something simple that we could assist with. Given your response, it appears that this radio, even when working, would not meet your needs.

I agree with the other response, consider the GTS - especially if you can find one at a discounted price. For me, the Android auto/carplay feature is worth its weight in gold. The screen is way faster. I have no difficulty hearing my music with this radio (will admit - I didn't have an issue with my radio on my 2014).

I have heard that the Sony is a great alternative.

Good luck in whatever you decide.

Diamond is a good option as well. A little more expensive but you get wireless Apple Carplay, built in DSP and built in hand control module (less wires and less programming).

I was thinking about the GTS if I could find one reasonable the other option I liked was the sound stream on sale for 799 and included the satellite module for under 1k I can get the master and unit to use all handlebar controls
GTS is much faster but dealer wants way too much and claims all sorts of drama to install which I k owns BS… not my first rodeo or bagger

The GTS is an easy install if you know someone with a flash tool. We did mine in a hotel parking lot.
