you got lucky....a couple of good guys found you and gave you some great advice....some of that same circle found me about 5 years ago...my wallet hasn't been the same since
I am a big fan of those AD5000's....it's a big speaker...i'm trying to figure out how to wedge those big sumbitches into my new bike...i think I have it figured out....i'll be honest, if I couldn't have gotten those in there, I would have felt like I was settling for less with something else
I have a 2021 cvo tri glide and I am running hertz neos in the pods. I actually bought cx165's for the pods but found the hertz sounding a bit better there. I also suggest adding lower fairing speakers to the front as they add to the overall sound without a ton of cost. If you have liquid lowers, you can add speaker pods there for around $150 a set and then speakers of your choice. My set up consist of:
Flashed boom head unit
Lexi amp tray
SD 1200.4 x 2 amps
AD 5000 speakers in the fairing with AD 4000 tweeters
hertz sx neos in the lowers
hertz sx neos in the pods.
JL 10tw3 sub in the trunk.
HKI mini dsp.
Couldn't be happier with this setup. If I change anything, it would be the fairing speaker so to keep the stock looking grills but the sound of the AD 5000 are just damn good.
Thanks. I was looking at the pods below. Theyre about $100 more but come painted. Any experience with these? Is the painted addition the only difference?
For tri glide
FLX1400.4 amp
Gz yellow baskets neos for front fairing
options for rear pods
Cicada cx65.4
Hertz sv165 neo
Hertz sx165 neo
Appreciate any advice
Lots of awesome recommendations...and believe me, I have been through a few.
I really wanted a set of the AD 5000 but just couldn't spend that money. I was having a hard time with sounding "harsh in my face" from my fairing...so wanted a component set up. Ended up with DD audio AW6.5 paired with Euphoria E5T soft dome tweeter in the fairing, and DD Audio VO-MN6.5 in the tour pak - Ground Zero Yellow Basket Coax down below. No DSP, slight tuning with my Kenwood HU and I was finally happy. Set max volume @ 32, and never really need to go above 28 doing 120kph. Only thing I would change now is Cicada CHX65.2 instead of the Ground Zero's - but in no rush given the cost of those's Cicadas
It's a rabbit hole, but if sound is important to you....
