J&M Dongle
Here is what I use and it works great. You can get the three or just get two. (Amazon)
VIENON 4-Port USB 3.0 Hub [90°/180° Degree Rotatable], USB Splitter with 3 USB Ports & 1 USB C Power/Data Port, USB Extender for Laptop, Car, iMac, MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, and More
USB Splitter Cable USB y Splitter Adapter Dual USB 2.0 Power Cord Extension for Charging/Data Transfer/Laptop/Mac/Car
USB Splitter Cable USB y Splitter Adapter Dual USB 2.0 Power Cord Extension for Charging/Data Transfer/Laptop/Mac/Car
ONVIAN 3 Port USB Hub High-Speed Splitter Plug and Play Bus Powered, Black
I am not getting any feedback by plugging it into my splitter.
Just saw this little splitter, wonder if it might be worth a try:

Also, here is what I have discovered. My dongle seems to last forever on the charge. When I turn the bike off, it shuts down after a short time. So, when I get back on, I have to turn the dongle back on - no problem. As a result, I am no longer trying to charge the dongle from the bike.
Just in case, I have a very small portable charger that can fit inside the cubby. That can be used to charge the dongle or, if needed, the Cardo.
By the way - any chance you are going to the Cumberland MD rally in June

If you install the WHIM, you can get a connection - but one the WHIM is installed, you lose the opportunity to again use the wired headsets and the sound is mono, not stereo. Plus, it appears that Harley is going away from the WHIM.
So, here is what I did - installed a J&M Dongle - part number JBLU-DNG51-14HP. This fits Harleys from 2014 - 2023.
I had to play with it to understand what it does - but, wow, does this thing work.
Once installed, plug and play - it connects to my Cardo system and plays all of my music, directions and everything else from my Boom Box right into my wireless headsets. I have a CB on the bike - you can hear the CB, but you cannot transmit.
I also use Andriot Auto - you can hear those direction in the helmet and well as, if you chose to use the NAV system from the bike. All of this is in stereo. The Cardo remembers the connection, so when you go back to the bike, it connects.
There is a pitfall - this unit runs off of a rechargeable battery. Suppose to last about 14 hours - same as my Cardo battery. So, you can charge the unit when you charge your headset. What I did was put a splitter in my cubby so that I could plug the unit in and charge it while riding.
I understand that this should work with any wireless helmet system. You may have to get your perfect setup and sequence. I know for Cardo, you have to turn the helmets on, let them connect to the phone, turn the bike on - and then turn the dongle on.
Riding season is around the corner and I am excited to see how well this thing performs.
First question is, what are the dimensions of the dongle? Im thinking if i remove the foam sleeve in the cubby, I could leave my phone connected to the USB, and still fit the dongle in there with it. If that would work, I believe I would not need another dongle to enable wireless apple carplay. What do you think about this settup?

The dongle is so small that you can easily put in in your cubby. I sort of turn mine sideways and put it on top of the foam.
Next, when John was developing this, we talked about carplay - so, as I recall, he actually put the pins in this plug so folks could get carplay.
I think this would work perfectly for you. Go to JM Audio or search dongle.
By the way - as noted in other post, you still have room in the cubby to put in a splitter. This way you can also use a flash drive for music if you use one.
Let me know how it works out for you.
