Default Stinger wiring

Hi all, Prolly over thinking this. …again. But planning an install of an spx700 and unlike my old amp that connected speaker wires directly to amp via terminal screws, this stinger has a molex plug that needs to be spliced into existing wires then plugged into amp. The speaker wires on the included harness are thinner gauge than my 18g wires. What’s recommended for splicing? Butt connection, bullet connection for easy disconnect or ?
I so like the old direct to amp style with no interruption or gauge change between speaker and amp.

it's not ideal, but it's no big deal. I personally like to solder and use shrink wrap to protect the solder joint.
