Best Audio upgrade for >$500?
Replacing my handlebars this year and figured while I have the batwing off, might as well look into upgrading the Audio.
I have a 2014 Ultra Limited with no Audio modifications at this time. I mainly run with the tour pack off so I really only listen thru the front 2 speakers.
Anyone know the best way to improve the quality and volume of the stock system in this model?
Looking to keep it under $500, if possible.
Thanks for any help you can give.
Amp:
Amp wire kit:
Speakers: Ground Zero | 6.5 Harley Speakers | Coaxial Loudspeaker – Garage Bagger Stereo
Speaker choice 2: Pro Audio Car Speaker MMATS PA601 Mid/Bass 6.5" Driver
So doing the math:
amp $235
wire kit: $35
Speaker 1: $200
speaker 2: $240
With speaker 1 option, $470 ish. That will supply you a damn good sounding setup and have enough amp power for the tour pack speakers too. Im sure others will chime in on their thoughts of this setup.
It's really hard to beat a set of MMats pa601cx and and amp. I just did a set off a MMats 600/4 and it sounded great. Owner of bike was super impressed.
My suggestion, up your budget some and buy from a rebuttable dealer and can offer support and warranty.
I would rather a set of Ground Zero Yellow Basket Coax over the mmats all day long. The GZ's are now $199 a pair (cheaper than the mmats). The Stinger amp bridged will provide ample power to the GZ's. There is also an mmats & soundigital amp for sale in the classifieds, which would provide extra headroom should you decide to add speakers down the road.
You will need to modify your pods to fit either of the above speakers.

cshocker - I agree with what you are saying about the support with amazon but my budget is pretty tight, if I cant do this upgrade for right around $500 then I wont be doing it. As for experience, I havent done any kind of audio upgrade since the 80's when I would replace head units and add speakers to my various beater cars I drove back then. SO yeah, Im a little bit lacking in that department. Although I have found there isnt much at all than cant be done with help from this forum and youtube (lol)
With that said, is there anyone who has done this upgrade with the Stinger Amp and MMATS or GZ speakers on a 2014-2016 Touring bike with the Boom audio system? I could use a little guidance.
Thanks again everyone.
