Default Cicada DSP size!!

So , just bought the new CICADA DSP412PRO
4 channels in, 12 channels out.......
I have 8 speakers on my 07 Ultra, 2 fairing, 2 lowers, 2 tour pack, 2 lids.
2 Amps, 1 Biketronics BT4250 for the front four.
1 BT2250 in the tour pack for the rear four, (will be upgrading that to a BT4250 soon)

And the size.........I should be able to get this to fit..........Size difference between the CICADA and the RF DSR1........
The price is high, hoping it comes through with performance and fitment.

I'm considering a DSP change from Dayton, anxious to hear your thoughts after you have it all installed

Very interesting. I'd love to hear how y'all like the new Cicada DSP. I already have an Arc PSM Pro and am spoiled rotten by it, but this Cicada unit looks to be cheaper. Also looking at a video on the Cicada it seems like it doesn't require a T harness for the Rushmore bikes. Is this true? I have a Cicada T harness which works great but with the resistor packs and wiring it takes up a lot of space in the fairing. If the Cicada would do away with any type of T harness on the Boom GT and GTS head units that would be a nice improvement indeed.

Maybe Rob or Corey will tinker with one soon.

Mine wont be installed anytime soon. Winter project in the Northeast. 07 ULTRA
Will be the first time using a DSP so the learning curve will be a little steep.
Tried installing a DSR1 but couldn't really find a spot for it due to it's size and the other components in the fairing, new Soundstream WHD.SG, BT4250 amp on top of that and the Hertz speakers.
The CICADA should fit somewhere.
Looking around for someone in the Massachusetts area to do DSP tuning, maybe with a RTA. Or just something to tinker with and set up myself.
This unit does NOT have Bluetooth, it is a wired unit to a laptop, that cable is 6' long, so going to have it connected and have it come up through the windshield bag permanently so I can make changes without removing fairing.

Waiting on the Brown truck to show up.

Played around with the software and it is a nice improvement from the DSP88V2.

Only thing that would be nice is if they had a 6 input over the 4. That is the only thing I will miss so far is the extra 2 channels for lower frequencies from the HU to dsp.

I'd love to see a software demo as far as setting EQ curves. I watched a video on it but it wasn't in depth. I couldn't tell if they used sliders like Arc or a "Q" type graph like Rockford.

You can download the software off the Cicada website

I had seen Carlos' video but couldn't tell much from looking over his shoulder about the software.

I like that it appears that it can be used without a T harness. That would save some room under the fairing (that harness has a LOT of wire and resistor packs on it). I already had a Cicada T harness that worked perfectly when I just had one amp and four speakers. I wonder if there would be any downside to just using this DSP without any type of T harness?

The T harness is designed mostly for the ultra classic/limited to get the rear input signal to the aftermarket components without cutting the stock harness up or having to run wires to and from the tourpack pods for a signal.

The SG/RG have a plug in the fairing for HU rear output signal so you only have to run rear speaker outputs down the backbone.

If you don't care about a fader or utilizing the rear channels of the HU you can use just the front inputs from the speaker pods with the proper PNP harnesses. Then appropriate the channels in the dsp to the amps for which speakers your amp/amps are powering.

There is more than one way to skin the audio cat on these bikes just depends on how you prefer to wire it and if you want the rear channels of the HU operational.

No reason to over think it or try and reinvent the wheel.
