Which Aftermarket Speakers
I have spent the better part of 2 days reading 10,000+ posts regarding upgraded speakers. I am still trying to decide jm, Hog Tunes, JBL, Infinity, etc. I am not looking to start a war here (oil thread anyone), but simply want some quick answers so I can make a good decision.
Regarding JBL and infinity:
How easy is installation? Is it plug and play? I am NOT interested in splicing wires. I simply want a better sounding system for my trip to the Grand Canyon this year. Yay!
For example:
-Infinity Kappa 52.7i-Do you need a crossover(s)? I don't even know what that is, but read it in another post.
-JBL GTO527: How easy is install? Anything I need to be aware of?
I am completely ignorant with speaker stuff so please be gentle.

Regards,
That's the reason I went with Hogtunes, cuz they are made to sound good when going down the hwy, not in the garage. From what was posted by another guy earlier today, the same can be said for the J&M.
Hope that helps. (and yes, both of these are plug and play, no wiring just disconnect the old ones and reconnect the new ones.)
I'm running JBL GTO527 and they work fine (much better the OEM speakers)

Regarding the Infinity speakers....Why are more people NOT talking about them? I found some on Ebay for $5 more than the JBLs and they have way better stats (I have no idea what either sound like). It almost seems as though one person gave a good review of the JBL and the crowd followed. I mean NO disrespect, but I am just trying to figure out everyone's thinking when they decided on their respective speakers. Again, NO disrespect intended!!!
I personally love the sound of Infinity speakers and will be looking at their marine line when I upgrade. They are very smooth sounding. Especially if you get ones with the silk dome tweeter. Speakers with the titanium tweeters are always going to sound a little more harsh. While looking at Infinity also take a look at Polk. They have a marine line too.

As for branding, there is no rhyme or reason. It's all about what sounds best to your ear and what you want to spend.
