Yes that is correct. Talked to Smokey Mountain HD today. Appearently there have not been none installed in the East Tennesse area. Makes a person feel real fuzzy about a HD dealer installing when a person has already paid for one to be installed and had to remove due to their (Knoxville West HD) giving up on the install.
Just to clarify, installing on a FLTRX with speaker pods on tour pak. I have the Non Ultra overlay Harness installed. The down load has been made by HD and front and rear speakers work with the fader. To make the amp work for both set of speakers i need Part No. 69200106 also?
If you have the overlay harness you do not need the 69200106. Used this amp for a front speaker/lid speaker setup and did not need that extra harness since we had the overlay harness already.
Even says it in the directions "Models not equipped with a Non-Ultra Overlay Harness (Part
No. 70169-06) will require the separate purchase of a Radio
Wire Harness (Part No. 69200106)."
Thats what i'm thinking. I dont think they had all pins installed in the correct holes. Thanks for the reply. The boom speakers sound pretty good with out the amp, however more is better at 80 mph.
I did not read the instructions I posted above (shame on me) but on a different HD site that specifies fitment for different models of bikes for this amp kit, it does state that the 69200106 harness is required if you have the overlay harness. Go figure! Anyway, Pc Pain is correct. that second harness is NOT required if you have the overlay harness per the instruction sheet here.
Since you have the overlay harness, the entire 1st section (Radio Wire Harness Routing and Connection) can be omitted and skip directly to the Amplifier Harness Routing and Connection to proceed with your installation.
look at step 14 in the Amp Harness Routing and Connection section. Do you see these two plugs laying (tied up) inside your fairing unused? That is likely where your issue is. Those two plugs (42A and 41A) need to be connected to the rear speakers.
I know I'm a little late to this thread, but is the 69200106 harness required if I do not have rear speakers? I'm only powering two front fairing speakers, and I have no sound at this point. I do not have the ultra overlay harness, as this is on an '11 Street Glide. Any help would be appreciated..

Are you adding the saddlebag speakers or just doing the front speakers with an amp? What kit are you installing?
