Default XM Module

Does anyone happen to know the difference in the XM module part #'s between the older 76165-06A and the newer 76404-06. The book says the 76404 is for 06 and newer with the HK radio, but the 76165 is also an HK and if I recall HK was not available until 06 as my 05 was not HK. Looking to ad on my new 12 street glide but wondering if the 76165 will work. Can by a used one and would prefer not to pay $500 for a new one. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

it will work fine. the plugs are the same, the device is the same, the software on the device is what's different.
you will need (if you don't already have installed) the overlay harness to make it work.

Default SiriusXM on my smartphone.

I recently bought a new jeep and it came with a year of SiriusXM. I just found out that for $2.99 month I can get the SeriusXM download for my smartphone as well as the internet application for my pc. Downside to it is that it uses a lot of data on the cell so a unlimited data package is recommended.

Works well on my HTC Thunderbolt Android. Just plug into the aux input. A plus for me is that the phone rings through the speakers when in the aux position.

Just thought I'd toss that in there as a maybe cheaper alternative...Larry

I could be wrong here but the same thing is going on with the CB module as well and I think the difference is whether it's an assembly line install vs. a P&A part.

76404-06 is the KIT p/n; you'll need to look at the module itself to get its p/n. You can check the p/n for the module by looking at an HD parts book for a model on which the module was OEM equipment. You can see all that's included with the kit in this link:

This might be a stupid question, but were the xm units dealership add ons? Was it just CVO`s that they came as standard equipment or no...

SeriusXM download for my smartphone
Better check how that affects your data usage rates.

XM modules to my knowledge were only installed on CVO/Screaming Eagle models as stock equipment and even then I don't think they started doing this until 08 or 09. They can however be added to any model that has the H/K Advanced Audio System.
